Suture scar

Many hair transplant volunteers want to know where the hair transplant scar stays. The suture line in such operations remains the same, and in the old methods of hair transplantation, it was not possible to obtain the result of the operation without the scar of suture remaining.

How to create a scar on the scalp and how it looks when performing old hair transplant methods depends on many factors including: the technique used to remove hair from the donor area, the number and length of hair and etc.

Suture scar in FUT and FUE methods:

As we said before, hair transplantation methods such as FUT hair transplantation and FUE hair transplantation used to cause some complications of hair transplantation, such as sutures and hair scars.

FUT hair transplant scars:

In this method of hair transplantation, a small part of the hair in the donor area is separated into groups and they are placed in the desired area and then separated one by one and planted in the desired areas where hair transplantation takes place. So even when operation was performed by the best doctors and hair transplant surgeons, a small scar line would be created in the donor area. Usually the length of the suture line in this area was about 2-3 cm.

FUE hair transplant scars:

This procedure was similar to the FUT procedure, but with the difference that from the very beginning, the hair follicles where separated from the donor area individually by the hair transplant surgeon. For this reason small stitches were usually made on heads of volunteers. In this method because the hair was harvested in larger and wider sections of the donor area, the suture line was longer but thinner. Therefore the scar line would disappear faster in this method. In the FUT method, after the hair transplant, you had to come back a while later so that a professional surgeon could remove the scar from the scalp this time. Of course, this method only created a scar line, which made the job a little easier. On the other hand, the presence of a scar line in areas where hair transplants have been performed can also be important because in some of these operations, this line may also occur in this area. you can choose the best hair transplant technique that is suitable for your circumstances.
